The proposal...

The day of the proposal was Sunday, November 16, 2013. Here is how it happened (according to Ryan with a few of my tidbits in italics) :
So we go to Banff, on the way there we find a unicorn. I thought unicorn was so extinct but it lives in Banff. I'm sure that at this point you have no idea what he is talking about, but if you want to be filled in look HERE. It was pretty snowy and cold in the morning so we naturally went to Tim Hortons first. After that we made our way over to Banff. Mountains beyond mountains. It was breathtaking. So we get to the townsite and I do not really have a time frame in mind so I pretend to know where I am going. We run into the museum of climbing/hiking and decide to go check it out. Worked out pretty well starting off the day hearing about some gruesome hiking deaths on the Rockies.
We decide to go for a little hike.
First I stop by Tim Hortons (again) to get some hot water. I use my empty bottle space and some mysterious brown powder to gain elixir of hot chocolate. After this I take Amy to a little lake/river outside the town of Banff. I sneakily hide a few items in my inventory. Once accomplished we set out to explore the unknown. The river and trees were all snow covered so it was really pretty (picture Narnia when those brats first arrive through the closet). I find a nice bench overlooking the river and encourage her to sit down with me.
I equip a package of Tim Tam cookies and my hot chocolate for Tim Tam Slams. You might need a little back story here: when we were friends I showed her Tim Tam Slams. They're delicious. There's the back story. So we slam a few back and once our bellies are filled with chocolatey goodness I pull out some old letters I wrote to Amy but never gave her. I won't go into details... but they're pretty much the gayets/cutest (depending on who you are) letters ever. I read the final letter and we set off back to the car. Ryan wrote these letters to me only weeks into our friendship, and although I won't mention too many specifics, here is a clip from the first letter: "I know this is long but you probably won’t ever read it. Yet in my heart I have this strange feeling like I am going to end up with you. I don’t know if its what God wants but I will pray as much as I can about it trying to figure it out..." And that's one of the millions of reasons why he is the love of my life.
We walk around the town site and look in some stores, laughs were shared. I then take her to lunch at some bear tavern place, I don't recall the exact name. Bear Street Tavern maybe? Anyways, we order a delicious pizza and om nom nom it down. Once our bellies are perfect I take her up Sulphur mountain. I go a ways down a trail and then leave Amy there while I run back to grab my guitar. At this point I began to realize that something was up, since on a regular occasion he would never walk 7 ft ahead of me or leave me on a cold snowy trail alone! Once we are secluded so nobody but her can hear the song I wrote. I play the song I wrote. It was pretty bad but since no one knows I pretend like it was awesome. Anyways, the end of the song had the proposal embedded in it. She freaked out and almost suffocated me. To me it either meant yes or she was putting me out of misery early. Thankfully it was the former. And that's it folks.
